Refills and requests

Automatic refills

Your Optum® Home Delivery Pharmacy prescription may be eligible for automatic refills. Set the date and Optum® Home Delivery will take care of automatically setting up your refills for you.

Prescription eligibility

If your prescription is eligible for auto refill, the prescription details page for your medications will display an auto refill section where you can enroll. You can also sign up from the auto-refill section of your account.

Selecting an auto-refill date

After selecting enroll, you’ll be able to choose your preferred auto-refill date. You’ll also be able to view or edit the shipping address and payment method that will be used for your automatically reoccurring refills each month. This date can only be adjusted to dates on or after your prescription is eligible for refill. You may return to this screen from prescriptions at any time to edit this date. Editing the date after your order has been processed will not result in cancellation; if you need to cancel an order that has already been processed, please contact us.

Note: Your chosen date indicates when your refill is scheduled to be processed, not the date on which you’ll receive the medication. Unless otherwise notified, you should expect to receive your prescription 2–5 business days after your order is processed.

Edit your auto-refill date

You can edit your next scheduled auto refill from your prescription details page, as long as your order has not yet been processed. If you need to adjust an order already in progress, please contact us.

Managing your prescriptions

Whether you need to fill, refill or renew a prescription, you can manage your medication from your prescriptions page. You’ll be notified if you need to take further action.

Prescription information

You’ll be able to find your prescription details — including name, form, dose and supply listed on your prescriptions page.

Your prescription status, located at the bottom of your prescription details card, indicates what stage your prescription is currently in and when you may need to take action to receive it.

Placing an order

Placing an order for one of your prescriptions is simple:

1. Get started

Select Optum Home Delivery at checkout or transfer your current medication from your prescription details page.

2. Get it filled

After Optum Home Delivery receives your order, they will reach out to your prescriber or pharmacy to get your prescription.

3. Get it delivered

After your prescriber or pharmacy sends your prescription, your medication should arrive at your door within 3–5 business days.

Shipping options

Your shipping address may differ from your primary address, which is usually the address on file with your insurance plan.

Prescriber approval

Your prescriptions may require provider approval if they are being transferred to Optum Home Delivery, you’re out of refills or if you’re requesting an entirely new prescription. If this is the case, Optum Home Delivery will inform you when you place your order, and they will reach out to your prescriber to get their approval.

Types of shipping

Optum Home Delivery offers standard or urgent shipping. Standard shipping is always free for Optum members. If you need your medication faster, you may be able to choose urgent shipping at an additional cost. Depending on your location, the cost of urgent shipping may vary. Some orders may arrive in multiple shipments.

Note: Optum Home Delivery ships to all U.S. states and all territories.

More fill options

If you want to place an order for medication that is ready to refill or need more refills, doing so is as easy as checking out at your favorite online store.

Schedule a fill

If you’d prefer to schedule your fills individually rather than signing up for auto refill, you can also select a specific scheduled fill date for prescriptions not enrolled in auto refill. Unlike with auto refill, you’ll need to schedule a new fill date for each refill to receive your order.

Refilling over the phone

If you’d prefer to order your prescriptions over the phone, you may contact Optum Home Delivery to place an order or speak to a pharmacist.
